The customer payment tracker for shops that still run on trust
The customer payment tracker for shops that still run on trust.
A customer payment tracker is a khata you cannot lose
A customer payment tracker is the digital version of the notebook most Indian kirana shops already keep: who took goods on credit, what they paid, and what is still open. Paper works until the page tears, the ink smears, or the only person who can read the handwriting is not in the shop. An udhar khata online does not replace trust. It records it so you can collect without argument.
DueSetu is built for that job. Owners sign in with Google and get the same ledger the Abhedyam Android app already uses: customers, credit sales, payments, stock, villages, UPI accounts. Customers sign in with the same mobile number the shop already has and see only their own dues. There is no marketplace and no feed. The unit of work is a name, an amount, and a due date.
Credit ledger for a shop, not a corporate ERP
Payment tracking software for small business is usually a dashboard of charts you do not need. A credit ledger for a shop is a list you can operate with a thumb. On a 375px phone the first screen of this site is a due-and-interest calculator: principal, yearly rate, days outstanding, answer underneath. After sign-in the owner home is pending dues, collected cash, customer count, and a button to record a sale. That is the whole product, on purpose.
The sale flow matches how a counter actually works. Pick an existing customer or type a new name and village. Add catalog products or an ad-hoc loose item. Set a due date. Save. Stock moves on the server. If the network drops, the sale waits in the browser queue and retries with the same payload so you do not double-post. Payments are cash (confirmed immediately) or UPI (pending until you open the screenshot). That verification queue is the feature paper never had.
Udhar bookkeeping without a second set of books
Udhar bookkeeping fails when the sale is in one place and the payment is in another. Here every payment hangs off a sale item. The remaining amount is server-side, not a cell you forgot to update. You can export CSV from the customer and payment lists, print an invoice or receipt on the PRO plan, and send a pay link on WhatsApp to someone who will never install an app. The public pay page shows business name, amount due, VPA and a QR code.
For owners who still think in villages, the customer list groups that way. For owners who collect by walking a route, nearest-due uses the phone GPS against stored customer locations. For owners who sell the same twenty SKUs, the stock hub sets a level without opening a warehouse module. Interest, EMI, GST and late-fee calculators stay public so you can share a number before anyone creates an account.
How a customer due tracker handles UPI
A customer due tracker that ignores UPI is a paper book with extra steps. This one copies the VPA, opens a UPI deep link on Android Chrome, and shows a QR on desktop. The customer must upload a screenshot. The owner confirms or declines. Failed payments stay in history so you do not argue about a transfer that never landed. That is UPI reconciliation at shop scale: not a bank dump, a photo and a status chip.
Khata book software often stops at “record the sale.” Collection is the part that pays rent. Reminders, notes, call links and WhatsApp live on the customer page. Notifications sit in the header. None of this requires the customer to be technical. They type the number you already have and open their dues.
Shop credit register, then a public page if you want one
Every shop is private by default. If you turn on public listing and pick a slug, duesetu.com/shop/your-slug becomes a catalog page you can share on WhatsApp. It shows products and a call button, never balances. Search engines are told not to index it, because an empty catalog is a thin page that crowds out the GST tools. The directory at /shops only includes owners who opted in, and it stays out of the search index too.
The GO plan is the full daily ledger. PRO is invoices, receipts and nearest customer: the same gates as Android, currently enforced in the apps and flag-gated on the server so we can switch enforcement on without a mobile release. Plus exists in the billing enum and is not sold yet. Public tools stay free: interest calculator, EMI calculator, GST calculator, late-fee calculator, invoice generator, payment receipt generator, udhar khata template.
Start with the number, then open the book
If you only needed a customer payment tracker for one overdue slip, use the calculator on this page and leave. If you run a counter every day, sign in as a shop owner, add the people who already buy on credit, and record tomorrow’s first sale in the same place you will record the payment. The Android apps keep working. This site is the same backend, a different surface, built so a customer can pay from a laptop and a shopkeeper can collect from a phone without maintaining two khata books.
Frequently asked questions
What is a customer payment tracker?
A customer payment tracker is a digital khata: a list of who bought on credit, how much they still owe, and which UPI or cash payments have come in. DueSetu is that ledger in the browser.
Is this the same as a khata book app?
Yes in purpose. Shopkeepers who already use the Abhedyam Android app get the same customers, sales and payments here. People who only want the web can start on this site.
Can customers see their dues without an app?
Yes. They sign in with the same mobile number the shopkeeper has on file, or the owner sends a pay link. The pay page shows amount, UPI ID and a QR code.
Does it work offline?
The signed-in ledger queues sales, payments and notes in the browser when the network drops, then retries. Marketing tools always run locally.
How do UPI payments get verified?
The customer pays, uploads a screenshot, and the payment sits as pending until the owner confirms or declines it. That is the same flow as the Android apps.
Is there a free plan?
GO is free: customers, sales, payments, stock. PRO adds invoices, receipts and nearest-due routing. Public calculators stay free.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Open duesetu.com in your browser, or use the free Abhedyam Owner and Abhedyam Connect apps on Google Play. The same account works on web and Android.
How is this different from Excel?
Excel does not chase a due, verify a screenshot, or let the customer pay from a link. The tracker does, and you can still export CSV.
Can I import my old khata?
Download the Excel template, fill it, and bulk-import. The file format matches the Android importer.
Who can see a customer’s balance?
The shop owner, and that customer after they sign in with their mobile number. Public shop pages never show dues, only an opt-in catalog.
Does Google login create a new shop?
If the email is new, yes, a GO shop is created. If you already use the Android owner app with that Google account, you get the same ledger.
What is udhar khata online?
Udhar is credit. An online udhar khata is a customer payment tracker for those balances instead of a paper bahi.
Is my data stored in the browser only?
Tools on this marketing site run in the browser. The signed-in ledger stores records on the existing Abhedyam backend so Android and web stay in sync.
